Murcia City Hall

The 30,000 sqft extension of the City Hall of Murcia connected with a small pedestrian bridge with the main City Hall, fills up the void addressing the baroque character of the plaza without competing with it. The new building faces the Baroque Cathedral and the 19th c. palace. The new facade assumes the role of the spectator. The main balcony of the mayor is located at the same level with the cardinal s balcony across, so that the political and religious powers of the city can coexist in equal terms.
